Tara & Ciaran's Engagement shoot, Glasgow

Saturday morning, the day of Tara and Ciaran's wedding and only then did I realise when sharing one of their engagement shoot images on my Facebook Page that I hadn't actually blogged their engagement shoot! How on earth did that slip through the net as it was awesome!

Tara and Ciaran live in the Gorbals in Glasgow and they mentioned that they would like some photos taken of them both in the Gorbals Rose Garden as they love spending time there and walking the dog. It would be just our luck that it was slightly overgrown at the time we chose to visit, but still, it was a nice space to be in. But we needed something more, so they suggested the Southern Necropolis which was an ancient graveyard! However, there was something strangely beautiful about that space, it was perfect.

Here are a collection of images from the day.

Eryn & David's Wedding, Largs & Piersland House, Troon

Well what an utterly lovely sunny day we had on Eryn and David's wedding day, which let's be honest, was absolutely perfect given they were married in their home seaside town of Largs, it just has to be sunny, right?

I take my own family to Largs very frequently and I've always wanted to photograph a wedding in 'that' big red church on the seafront as it's such a lovely building (St Columbas to be exact). And it didn't disappoint. What's more, David is part of the RNLI Lifeboat crew stationed in Largs and we had planned to pop over to photograph them both together with the lifeboat and on-call crew members so that they didn't miss out. If we had more time I'd have had Eryn and David on the lifeboat in the water!

When we arrived at the Piersland Hotel in Troon, we were met with clear blue skies and could easily have been somewhere more exotic. The good weather meant that everybody was extremely relaxed and the kids made full use of the huge lawn to run about and play on. It's one of the best parts of photographing a wedding for me, floating about capturing everybody enjoying their day.

I thoroughly enjoyed taking Eryn and David away for a short while where we found some fantastic colours of purples and yellows amongst the flowers.

Eryn and David, thank you so much for having me photograph your wedding day. Here is a small selection of what I captured for you all to enjoy.

Matthew

Matthew's mum and dad wanted me to take some photos of him out and about. Unfortunately, the weather decided otherwise. It had been pouring with rain and was extremely damp so we agreed that I would turn up at the house and see what it was like. Still a bit damp to venture out to the local park. However, it did manage to dry up.

It's amazing what you can find in small spaces. As I looked around their back garden, I immediately saw a few places where I could sit Matthew, we even used a bit of the front garden next to a line of trees. It looked like we were in the woods.

Matthew was great to work with. A very happy chap and he really enjoyed having photos taken of him. I don't know many four year olds who would let me do that! Here is a small selection of what I captured.

Gayle & Rob's Engagement Shoot at The Sugar Sheds

This shoot seems so long ago now given that Gayle and Rob are now married! But what a perfect place for it given that Rob works just across from the Sugar Sheds in Greenock. I love this place so much as having grown up in Liverpool, it's a building not too dissimilar from those in my  home town and with a similar history too. Its rustic brick walls reveal lovely colours and the huge cast iron doors make a fantastic backdrop.

I had so much fun with Gayle, Rob and their son Robbie. How glad was I that Robbie came along as he showed his mum and dad how to pose and was constantly telling them what to do! His cheeky smile filled my camera with some fab images and just made me realise how much I love what I do.

Here's some of those images for you to enjoy. Watch this space for their wedding which will be featured here very soon.

Afternoon Tea at Three Sisters Bake

A bit of a blast from the past in that I did an afternoon tea shoot at Three Sisters Bake last year, but worthy of resurrecting it especially for the blog and therefore your enjoyment. But it does come with a warning, you may have the sudden urge to lick your screen and/or you may find yourself drooling uncontrollably for which I take no responsibility!

I was so pleased when the sisters asked me along to photograph their afternoon tea offering. Having worked with them a few times prior, I knew this would be a difficult undertaking. Seriously, you try spending lots of time pointing a camera really close up to mouth-watering delights and resisting the urge to eat it all! But hey, I thoroughly enjoyed it and loved their offering for kids, can't recommend it enough that you pop along to one of their cafes which you can find in Quarriers Village or Killearn. Enjoy!
