There are so many alternative wedding venues around be it a village hall in the middle of the countryside or a converted church in the city.
All have their own charms with majestic views across to lochs and mountains to urban city streets with graffiti and big shutter doors. The light acts differently across them all and there are so many little nuggets to explore and discover. Similar to Farm Weddings, you can really make your own stamp on these and bring all your creative ideas to the table.
Some alternative venues I've photographed weddings at and are worth considering include St Andrews in the Square, Ardoch, The Cruin, Three Sisters Bake at Killearn, Aberdour Castle, Gartmore Village Hall, Pollokshields Burgh Hall, Sloans, Glasgow University Chapel, Doune Castle, Royal College of Surgeons and The Big Wooden House.
Here's some other wedding venues I'd love to photograph a wedding at so if you're considering any of them then let's talk: Ross Priory, Boturich Castle, Tullibole Castle, Ardgowan Estate, Aswanley and Secret Herb Garden.
